SPICY TURKEY BAKED IN YOGURT.

Monday, November 14, 2022 Lagos, Nigeria

Now this is my favorite dinner. I always have it with sweet potatoes.

List of ingredients:

·      2 tbsp. hot chilli pepper

·      2 tbsp. garlic powder

·      2 tbsp. onion powder

·      ½ tbsp. salt

·      ½ tbsp. black pepper

·      ½ tbsp. smoked paprika

·      ½ dried thyme

·      ½ tbsp. dried basil

·      1 cup yogurt (or chicken broth)

·      Barbecue sauce

·      Chilli sauce

Procedure:

1.    Add all the ingredients in a cup of yogurt and mix together. (If you’re using chicken broth you don’t need to mix the ingredients with it).

2.    Make sure you turkey is clean and dry.

3.    Place your turkey in a baking dish.

4.    Add the yogurt mixture in the baking dish and massage the ingredients round the turkey.

5.    Marinate for 30mins in the refrigerator.

6.    Pre heat the oven at 180 °C for 8 – 10mins.

7.    After 30mins of marinating, put the turkey in the oven and bake for 80mins (you can leave it in for longer than 80mins depending on how chewy you want your turkey).

8.    After 40mins flip the turkey to the other side and add a slice of butter on each turkey.

9.    Leave for another 40mins in the oven and flip again.

10.  Brush each turkey with the barbecue chilli sauce on both sides.

11.  Leave in the oven for 5mins, and then take out of the oven.

PS: if you’re using chicken broth. Add it from the sides after massaging the spices on the turkey.

    Enjoy.

  6. Hi!
It looks delicious, I am curious if the yogurt makes the turkey tender.

    1. Yes dear. It helps keep the moisture in and not let the turkey dry out. :)
